The uniqueness and peculiarity of Hollywood is that it has come to play the role of utopia and dystopia. Since 1929 the preeminent outpost from which to observe the most medicated, most polarizing town in America has been the Chateau Marmont. It seems that every creative talent in Hollywood eventually checks in at the Marmont, so there is an extraordinary collection of films, photographs, and literature created in and about the Chateau, and often by extension, about Hollywood itself. This collection gathers a sampling of that incredible output in a tabloidesque design that pays homage to the way Hollywood sees itself.
