SUZANNE TRILL isSenior Lecturer in English Literature at the University of Edinburgh, UK. Her previous publications include Voicing Women: Gender and Sexuality in Early Modern Women's Writing (1996)and 'Lay By Your Needles, Ladies, take Melanie the Pen': Writing Women 1500-1700 (1997),both co-edited with Kate Chedgzoy and Melanie Osborne. More recently she has edited Lady Anne Halkett: Selected Self-Writings (2007).
