What history tells us: Mary Bliss Parsons was tried in Boston for witchcraft in 1675. She was acquitted, thanks in large part to the influence and wealth of her husband, Joseph. Rumors of witchcraft circulated around Mary until her death in Springfield, MA, in 1712. What history does NOT tell us: Mary was part of a small but powerful group of women know to each other as Strong Weet.
