It has been said that whatever falls out of Jon's head and lands on paper should be read. It has also been said that Jon Etheredge uses the same words previously immortalized by the greats of American literature, but rearranged in such a way as to give them an entirely different meaning. Recognized throughout the Harley-Davidson community as "the one who can write", Jon has been stretching the boundaries of the written word ever since 1958, when he successfully penned the finest doctor's note ever seen by his third grade teacher, Mrs. Nessarope Bell, and the administrative staff of Hayes Barton Elementary School in Raleigh, North Carolina. Mrs. Bell is dead now, but the note lives on, enshrined forever beneath glass in the state Museum of Natural History.
