The course is designed for children who are just beginning to learn English, and provides a firm foundation in early reading development. Each unit introduces English words through an amusing story. Children then go on to practice phonics and vocabulary through songs, chants, listening activities, and writing practice. Book 1 teaches the 26 letters of the English alphabet and their sounds, including an introduction to the short vowel sounds.
