This videotape is the fifth in a series of 10 videotapes by Meredith Hodges about the maintenance and training of mules and donkeys. In Tape #4, you applied the foundation you set in Tapes #1 and #2 and moved on to employ the basics of riding your equine. In this tape, you will learn to fine-tune your own body to that of your mount with exercises that strengthen, balance and increase coordination to produce a more harmonious picture. You will learn the concepts of good equitation, collection, bending and lateral work through the use of simple patterns that increase in difficulty to challenge you and your mount as you progress. This tape will set the foundation for pretty changes of lead through the use of simple changes that balance, strengthen and coordinate your equine such that flying changes come naturally and effortlessly. At the same time, you will condition your own body to respond lightly and flawlessly when cueing your equine. This tape also covers fitting and grooming, tips for showing, tips about Western and English Pleasure classes and Trail classes. Both the needs of the equine and rider are addressed.
