Jon Harvey is an award-winning comedian, writer, producer and editor. His credits include The Thick Of It, Have I Got News For You, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, The Glastonbury Festival, The Revolution Will Be Televised, Only Connect, Comic Relief, Time Trumpet, Newsnight, Yes Minister, Dave Podmore, Lobby Land, The World of Simon Rich and Austentatious. In 2020 his debut series as a writer/presenter, Could An Ancient Athenian Fix Britain?, was broadcast on BBC Radio 4. In 2017 and 2019 he won Best Comedy at the BBC Audio Awards for producing Rob Newman's Entirely Accurate Encyclopaedia of Evolution and Total Eclipse of Descartes. In 2019 his political sitcom Lobby Land premiered in the flagship Friday 6.30pm slot on BBC Radio 4, starring Charlie Higson, Yasmine Akram and Cariad Lloyd. In summer 2018 he performed his debut live comedy show at the Edinburgh Fringe to wide acclaim in the national press. It then transferred to the Soho Theatre (2019) and VAULT Festival in London (2020).

He has written for publications including The Times, The Sunday Times, Private Eye, Paris Match, the NME and Wisden's journal The Nightwatchman. Sudden Death is his first book.
