Sara Bir is a chef and a writer living in Marietta, Ohio. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, she left Ohio as a young adult to get lost, and returned years later to find herself. Sara has worked as a chocolate factory tour guide, a sausage cart lackey, a food editor, a recipe tester, a restaurant critic, a librarian, and an arts and entertainment reporter. In her spare time Sara enjoys walking in the woods and looking for fruit - a passion that inspired her pawpaw recipe zine, The Pocket Pawpaw Cookbook. Her writing has been featured in Saveur , Edible Ohio Valley , Best Food Writing 2014 , two Full Grown People anthologies, and on the website Serious Eats, Lucky Peach, and Paste Magazine .
