Adrienne Robillard is a writer and English lecturer in the early college program at Windward Community College in Kaneohe, Hawai'i. She grew up in Kailua, Hawai'i, and Fresno, California. After college she worked in San Francisco as a technology editor by day and fronted indie rock bands by night, opening for The Decemberists and Arcade Fire in the US and playing shows in desecrated churches and underground clubs in the UK and Europe. Robillard lives with her husband and their two children in Kailua on O'ahu. A member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrator's Hawai'i Chapter, she is also a contributing writer to Hawaii Business and has published stories in Spunk and We'll Never Have Paris zines. In the summer of 2017, she participated in the Tin House Summer Workshop for a novel-in-progress. Dawn Sakamoto Paiva has two decades of experience in the book and magazine publishing industries. She has worked on numerous award-winning cookbooks with prominent Hawai'i chefs and has a passion for food and drink.

She started her own business, Put It On My Plate, in 2014, offering communications, marketing, event coordination, and photography, services for chefs, restaurants, bars, and food-related businesses. Paiva was born and raised in Windward O'ahu and attended Kenyon College, a liberal arts college in Ohio, where she received her bachelor's degree in English with magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors. She is a member of Les Dames d'Escoffier, Hawai'i Chapter and maintains (off and on!) a food and travel blog, Sugar + Shake , which was awarded "Best Hawai'i Features Blog" in its first year online by the Hawai'i Society of Professional Journalists.
