Magda Danysz is a Paris, Shanghai and London based curator specializing in emerging scenes from new media to urban art. She started her cultural activities in the 90s while opening a first gallery space in Paris in 1991. Since then she has opened art spaces and offices in Shanghai and London. Apart from putting up a programme for the exhibition spaces she runs, Magda Danysz has also curated and produced many other cultural projects with municipalities or museums across the world from JR in 2010 at the Shanghai Biennale and aback in 2014 at the Power Station of Art Museum Shanghai in China. She has also curated shows for the CAFA Art Museum in Beijing, a show about Chinese contemporary photography at Tokyo Photo in Japan, the Street Generations exhibition at La Condition Publique, Roubaix in France, etc. Curated by street art expert and gallerist Magda Danysz, Art from the Streets reflects the evolution of street art, charting the diverse artistic techniques employed by artists through the decades, and showing how technology has created new expressive avenues for artists. Having run an urban art gallery based in Paris, London and Shanghai, Danysz offers her unique insights from over a decade of experience in Asia. Active as a curator she has participated in more than 100 exhibitions worldwide and has also been keen on publishing books about art.
She has written various books on art such as From Style Writing to Art and Les Bains - Residence D'Artistes about an artist residency in the heart of Paris. Magda Danysz has also taught cultural policies at Sciences Po Paris. She is on the board of the cultural digital arts center Le Cube in Issy-les-Moulineaux. In 2007 she has been decorated by the French Ministry of Culture as a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres.
