Nigel Sadler's interest in the Caribbean started when he was appointed as Director of the Turks and Caicos National Museum in 2000. He held this position until January 2007 when he set up his company, Sands of Time Consultancy (http://www.sandsoftimeconsultancy.com), and returned to the UK to work on several exhibitions to commemorate the bi centenary of the abolition of the British Slave Trade. Nigel has carried out extensive research on slavery, which has led to several academic and popular publications. To aid its projects Sands of Time Consultancy has been developing an image archive and this publication will mostly contain images from this collection of which the company already holds around 130 suitable images. In 2002 Sonja joined Centro Leon, a cultural centre in the Dominican Republic dedicated to the development of creativity through research and exhibition of Dominican art and culture highlighting its ties to the Caribbean. She represented the organisation in the Museums Association of the Caribbean (MAC) from 2005 to 2010, holding the Presidency for the last two years.
