Nuno Mateus-Coelho is an Adjunct Professor of Cybersecurity at the Polytechnic Institute of Cavado and Ave; an Associate Professor at the Universidade Lusófona; Cyber Security Adviser at FORVIA; CEO of NRMC.PT; Judicial Expert of the Ministry of Justice; and CISO & DPO of several prominent national organizations. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Engineering, a Master's degree in Computer Engineering (Cybersecurity) from the Higher Institute of Engineering of Porto, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science (Cybersecurity) from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. He is currently a post-doctoral researcher in Cybersecurity at the Universidade Lusófona. Nuno Mateus-Coelho serves as the Chief Editor of the scientific journal ARIS2-Journal, Director of LAPI2S - Laboratory of Privacy and Information Systems Security, General Chair of the iSCSi - International Conference on Industry Sciences and Computer Sciences Innovation, and he is also the author of numerous works, books, and scientific articles on Cybersecurity. He is a Senior Engineer and Specialist of the Order of Engineers and is accredited by the European Commission as an expert in information and Cybersecurity projects.
Nuno Mateus-Coelho speaks at TED, IEEE, and Web Summit Lisbon on Technology and Cybersecurity. He is a cybersecurity and cyberterrorism expert commentator on CNN Portugal and TVI, with an opinion column. In 2021, he won the international Inncyber Innovation Award for "Best European Research" in Cybersecurity, which included a week of immersion at the University of California-Riverside. One of his most significant achievements was the Vent2Life project, which aimed to repair hospital ventilators during the COVID crisis, and this project successfully recovered two hundred pieces of equipment.
