Dr. Özgür Eren obtained his BS and PhD from Eastern Mediterranean University of Northern Cyprus and MEng from Leeds University of UK. He currently works at the Department of Civil Engineering, Eastern Mediterranean University as a full professor. He has been teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in civil engineering materials and environmental engineering. His research interests include mainly concrete, cement replacement materials, fiber reinforced concrete, repair and maintenance of concrete and civil engineering materials. He published more than 100 articles in journals and conferences. Prof. Dr.
Umut Türker obtained his BS and MS degrees from the Civil Engineering Department in the Middle East Technical University, Türkiye. He conducted his Ph.D. studies at istanbul Technical University on Coastal Hydraulics. Dr. Türker is a full Professor at the Eastern Mediterranean University, North Cyprus. He has more than 25 years of research experience in the fields of environmental hydraulics and coastal engineering. He has chaired more than 10 sessions at various international events, served as guest editor to Elsevier's and Springer's journals.
Dr. Türker has also helped more than 10 technical or scientific committees and advisory boards for international conferences and events, and be a member of the national water council of North Cyprus for years. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eris Uygar obtained MS and PhD degrees from Eastern Mediterranean University of Northern Cyprus (EMU), specialising in the field of Geotechnical Engineering. He researched one dimensional compression and shearing behavior of beach sand with an insight into particle degradation and crushing. He followed onto becoming professional engineer in October 2005, working as a geotechnical engineer in Mott MacDonald Ltd, UK, where he designed ground investigations, ground modification schemes, pile foundations, retaining walls.
He also carried out numerical analysis and potential impact assessments for infrastructure and building structures in prestigious projects such as Crossrail, London. Since September 2014, he became a faculty member at EMU. He supervised MS and PhD theses on foundation design, numerical analysis of geotechnical problems, and ground stabilisation with admixtures. Currently he acts as the Chair of the Civil Engineering Department at EMU.
