Mina Yoo is a force of nature: a savvy entrepreneur and a former professor and researcher of entrepreneurship at the University of Washington Foster School of Business and Stanford University. As a new mom training to summit Mount Rainier, she reinvented the carabiner by developing the Heroclip, a modified version that features a clip and a rotating, folding hook. Mina was born in Seoul, Korea, and grew up in Dubai, U.A.E., and Jakarta, Indonesia. After moving to the United States, she received her BA in Sociology from Brown University and her dual-PhD in business and sociology from the University of Michigan. A recovering lawyer, coauthor Hilary Meyerson is a professional writer and social media marketing expert.
She has written feature stories for several regional national and literary magazines including Seattle magazine, Seattle Metropolitan and McSweeney's . She also runs a social media/marketing company, Little Candle Media, where she advises many startup businesses on how to best leverage social media in their marketing efforts. Hilary holds a BA in English literature from Middlebury College and a JD from the University of Washington.
