Dr. Kamel A. Abd-Elsalam is currently working as a research professor[SA1] at the Plant Pathology Research Institute, Agricultural Research Center, Giza, Egypt. Kamel earned his PhD in molecular plant pathology from Christian Alberchts University of Kiel, Germany, and Suez Canal University, Egypt. Dr. Abd-Elsalam's research interests include developing, improving, and deploying plant biosecurity diagnostic tools, and understanding and exploiting fungal pathogen genomes. He also works on developing eco-friendly hybrid nanomaterials for controlling toxicogenic fungi, plant diseases, and agroecosystems applications. He has published 20 books related to nano-biotechnology applications in agriculture and plant protection.
Prof. Synan F. AbuQamar is currently working as a professor in United Arab Emirates University. He obtained his PhD from Purdue University, USA, in 2007 and did his postdoctoral work there in 2008. He has published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals. Synan won the prestigious Khalifa Award for Education in 2020, and Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Technology and King Hamad Prize for Agricultural Development in 2023.
