Preetham Elumalai, presently an Assistant Professor (Biochemistry), Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS), Kochi, India. He completed his Masters from University of Madras, Tamil Nadu, India. He completed his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular immunology from the Institute for Immunology, University of Regensburg, Germany. He did his post-doctoral research in the same university and worked on lectin Glycomics. His current research interests include proteomics and functional genomic approach for the analysis of pathomechanisms of different aquatic diseases, application of nanotechnology for the regulation of nutrient uptake in fish using nutrigenomic approaches, genetic regulation of gene expression across tissues, time and environments. Kim Thompson has over 25 years of experience in fish immunology with 150 publications related to vaccine development, effects of immunostimulants/feed additives on the immune system, and host pathogen interactions. She has been a partner in numerous EU (e.g.
IMAQUANIM, TARGETFISH) and UK funded projects including projects relating to tilapia including a current IVVN pump-priming project examining the maternal transfer of Tilapia lake virus antibodies from broodstock to offspring. Sreeja Lakshmi presently a post-doctoral researcher at the Moredun Research Institute (MRI), UK, with International Veterinary Vaccinology Network (IVVN) Fellowship Grant, UK. She holds a Masters degree in Biochemistry from University of Calicut, Kerala. She pursued her PhD in Biochemistry from Molecular Cell Biology, University of Regensburg, Germany. She has had post-doctoral research experience at the Institute of Tropical Medicine, University of Tuebingen, Germany.
