Dr Galzitskaya is a specialist in molecular biology, biophysics, and bioinformatics, and author of over 200 scientific papers, including 11 articles in the Atlas of Science. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the journals "Current Protein and Peptide Science", "The Open Biochemistry Journal", "The Open Bioinformatics Journal", "The Open Journal of Biochemistry", "Austin Biometrics and Biostatistics", "World Journal of Biological Chemistry" until 2017, "Scientific Pages of Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia", and editor of the "Journal of Alzheimer's Disease" from 2015-2019. She is also member of the expert council of the Russian Science Foundation in biology and the scientific council of the Institute of Protein Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Her research interests include folding and misfolding of proteins resulting in the development of pathologies in the body of an aging person (including the analysis and formation of fibrils in Alzheimer's), systems biology and bioinformatics, mechanisms of aging and protein levels, early stages of Alzheimer's, and the creation of antimicrobial peptides. She is currently Head of Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Proteomics at the Russian Academy of Sciences in the Institute of Protein Research.
