He is also the author of 5 books regarding Android development and has almost 100 scientific publications focused on computer science education. Bruno Cunha holds a PhD in Computer Science and is a Research Scientist at Porto Research, Technology & Innovation Center (PORTIC) and a Professor at the informatics engineering department of the Institute of Engineering of Porto (ISEP), both part of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (P.Porto). His research interests are in the areas of optimization and machine learning. His current investigation focuses on the application of these technologies to the digital health field, creating new efficient and intelligent technologies to support different stages of the medical treatment. Xavier Fonseca is a Doctor Engineer that aims for positive impact in society through research and IT-based solutions.

Fonseca is driven by innovation, and actively seeks for ways to build software and technology that can be created from underlying values such as social responsibility, privacy, and high performance. Fonseca uses the knowledge and professional experience accumulated over the years to tackle ever-evolving world-wide complex problems. Fonseca co-authored multiple articles in top scientific journals and has presented work on several national and international conferences. The topics addressed are on social cohesion, meaningful social interaction, playable cities, requirements engineering, user profiling, civic engagement, location-based games, serious digital games, games for education, and high performance computing to speed up artificial intelligence-based sequential algorithms (with the use of general purpose GPUs). Besides his scientific presentations, Fonseca also gave presentations as keynote speaker to other research groups on social cohesion, to help further define their research questions.
