Book III of Hunters, Ghosts & Shadows follows Li Akito, brother to the Heir of Phoenix, as he tries desperately to unravel a self-perpetuated paradox. In hopes of saving his family, he embarks on an endless journey through time. In Ashes sets off after the collapse of Mu when a group of Ancients form a cult to introduce a migration they call the New Movement. Akito, a victim of their restriction, rebels against the family in an attempt to win his siblings freedom. However, good intentions do not always lead to good outcomes. Every step Akito takes creates a ripple through space and each time he tries to right his wrongs he sinks a little deeper.
