We often find that we can relate with several different characters in the Bible. We may not want to admit the times when we can compare ourselves to Peter when he denied Jesus, or Jonah when he disobeyed God, but if we are honest, we can find our stories in the less flattering times of other people. Being there is one thing. Staying there is completely different. I have found fasting and prayer to be an excellent vehicle to take us from where we are, to where we want to be.
