Carly Anne York is an animal physiologist who studies how organisms interact with their environments. She is an Associate Professor at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina where she teaches biology courses. She is also an active science communicator who has collaborated with TED-ED on the creation of science lessons, participated in numerous podcasts, and has been featured on The Science Channel. York has written two non-fiction children's books, A Day in the Life of Horses (2022) and Queens of the Jungle (2024).
