On January 2020, on his 74th birthday, David Lynch released a new short film on Netflix. The 17-minute, black and white short, titled 'What Did Jack Do?' was directed and written by Lynch, and also starred Lynch as a homicide detective interrogating a tormented monkey. Lynch directed a third season of Twin Peaks, which aired in May 2017. Inland Empire, Lynch's first full-length feature since Mulholland Drive, was released in March 2007 and reunited his 1980s ensemble of Laura Dern and Harry Dean Stanton. Weirdsville USA is the most complete and up-to-date book on Lynch available - it includes the films Lost Highway and The Straight Story, plus an analysis of the origins of Mulholland Drive - combining biography, filmography and detailed film analysis. Full of Lynch rarities, including his peripheral art and music projects and a complete survey of his unmade films. Muholland Drive was named the top film of the 21st century in a BBC Culture poll. In July 2019, David Lynch took over HOME - the Centre for International Contemporary Art, Theatre and Film in Manchester, England.

'My Head Is Disconnected' was the first major UK exhibition of Lynch's paintings, drawings and sculpture.
