He is also the co-director of three critically acclaimed documentaries-A Short Film About Dekalog: An Interview with Krzysztof Kieslowski (1996), Trouble and Desire: An Interview with Hal Hartley (1997) and Formulas for Seduction. The Cinema of Atom Egoyan (1999) - and the Author of many books on cinema, including 100 American Independent Films (2004), The Faber Book of Mexican Cinema (2006) and Talking Movies: Contemporary World Filmmakers in Interview (2007).
