Katie and the Kiwis
When 12-year-old Katie's parents tell her they are moving to New Zealand, she is angry and upset. She is dreading the move. She thinks she will be stuck in Nowhereland with no friends, no family, and nothing but sheep for company. When she arrives she stomps off into the bush where she meets a Maori boy about to row up a wide river. Without a second thought, Katie goes with him. She has no idea she will end up caught up, tied up, and going for a ride in the back of a police car. She also has no idea that she and Rangi will rescue captured kiwi birds and have an amazing adventure.
