Hope is the optimism that sees light in the midst of (overwhelming) darkness. The difference between Joseph in the Scripture and so many others is HOPE. Joseph was thrown into the pit by his brothers, thinking that his dream would die; with the light of HOPE he kept his dream alive in the darkness of the pit. When the Midianite Merchants sold him to Potiphar, it was with the power of HOPE that he lived free within the fortified walls of slavery. Even when he was thrown into prison, with the grace of HOPE he transformed adversity into an opportunity- He did not only fill the prison with the radiance of HOPE, but gave HOPE to Pharaoh and all of Egypt: from the prison he controlled the Gross National Product of Egypt. In Joseph we learn that nothing is over until God says it is over, and that no night of distress can conquer the sunrise of HOPE. What keeps you and your dream alive between the time of your calamity and the moment when God gives the final Word, is HOPE.In this book STRINGS OF HOPE reminds us to stand with HOPE.
And in the spirit of the prophecy of Isaiah, it presents HOPE as the path towards restoration and prosperity: "But those who hope in the Lord will have their strength renewed. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint" (Is 40:31). May all who read this book experience the limitless power of HOPE.
