Alex is born into severe poverty and experiences several disasters-some are beyond his control and others he inflicts on himself. Alex takes us on a roller-coaster ride as he plunges headlong into his life with consequences. What does he do to survive? How will he come out at the end? Vultures and Violin will educate many, particularly the young, about poverty's injustice and the importance of loyalty. The novel affirms that there is honor amongst those living in poverty and those living in wealth; that most of us live within a spectrum of acceptable or unacceptable behaviors; that there is no perfection and no absolute evil; and, finally, that we are all human, worthy of love.
