Knut Wicksell's contribution to modern economic analysis has been immense, although his work only became better known during the 1930s. The Finanztheorie Untersuchungen is the least widely discussed of his major works, although the topic, public finance and taxation, and Wicksell's treatment of it, still merit this work as a major contribution to the history of economic thought.
