Living on Tick
The corner shop in the 1920s and '30s was much more than just a place to buy the groceries. It was a meeting place where familiar faces, on both sides of the counter, swapped stories and helped each other out. Hazel Wheeler grew up in her father's shop in Deighton near Huddersfield and recalls her memories of those times. She remembers the people, the goods they sold in the shop and a way of life that has now vanished.
