Rachel Jamison Webster grew up in the small town of Madison, Ohio, on Lake Erie, and now lives in Evanston, Illinois, where she is a Professor of Creative Writing at Northwestern University. Rachel is the author of the books, 'Mary is a River' (Kelsey Books 2018), which was a finalist for the National Poetry Series; 'September: Poems' (TriQuarterly 2013); and the cross-genre volume of fiction and poetry, 'The Endless Unbegun' (Twelve Winters 2015). Her poems, essays and stories have appeared in dozens of journals and anthologies, including Poetry; Tin House; The Southern Review; Prairie Schooner; The Paris Review and Not a Muse: An Anthology of International Women's Poetry. Rachel graduated from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, and the Warren Wilson MFA Program in Asheville, N.C.
