While on trip through the Smoky Mountains of eastern Tennessee, a boy and a girl encounter a horrible creature, with an insatiable thirst for blood. Together, they must fight the creature, if they hope to survive the night. As they fight for their lives, they learn some things about themselves, and about each other. They learn about love, and about heart. They learn about overcoming adversity and about the will to survive. But mostly they learn to embrace what each has tried for so long to deny. Their love for one another. Together, they can survive the night.

But they soon learn that surviving is only the beginning.
