Qian Wang is a senior mechanical engineer with Industrial Oil-Free Centrifugal Compressor Group of Ingersoll-Rand.Qian was born in China. At the age of fifteen, she was sent down to the countryside and worked in the rice field for seven years; then, she worked as a cement product worker for three years. During those ten years, Qian never stopped self-teaching and learning. After the Cultural Revolution, she was admitted into college in 1977 and graduated from the Mechanical Engineering department, Hebei Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. In 1984, she took the national postgraduate entrance exam and won the full scholarship to study abroad by the National Education Commission of China. She obtained a master's and a doctorate in mechanical engineering of Polytechnic of Milan, Italy. She also has an MBA from Kelly School of Business and Management, Indiana University, USA.
