Growing up in Taiwan I have lots of great food memories. Many members of my family are wonderful cooks-some are chefs-and from a really young age I've always been surrounded by delicious food. Some of my very happiest memories are of watching my grandparents cook and of my father taking me to the most unique restaurants and night markets to find the best food.Even though I'm from Taiwan, my culinary background isn't entirely about Eastern food. I was a chef for many years and my culinary education focused on Western style cooking. Of course, I do know a lot about Eastern food! I have always been very adventurous when it comes to food and this has a large influence on not only my cooking but also my food illustrations. Since 2009 I have ran my own food blog for both Chinese and Taiwanese food. In 2012 my daughter was born and, unwilling to work the long high-pressure hours associated with being a chef, I decided to make a huge career change and pursue my other passion: illustration.
