The purpose of this book is to shed light on the constitution of Mississippi and to find out, if, in fact, it is constitutional. Does it line up with the ideals of our nation''s founding fathers as set forth in the Declaration of Independence? Is it in line with the Constitution of the United States? If so, then what can we do about seeing it put into actual practice in the 21st century? . My background is in Biblical research. My first book, "Bible Study 101: Keys to Understanding the Word of God" won a 2010 Christian Choice Book Award. In that book, I explain the proper principles of how to study the Holy Bible. These are universal principles on how to study a document to understand its true meanings and intentions. I will apply the same principles of research in this work.II Peter 1: 20-21: "Knowing this first, that no prophesy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
for the prophesy came not in the old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." Do not imply that I am saying that our constitution is Holy Scripture. the principles in researching a document is the point. the first thing to know is that the document is not subject to what any later reader may or may not think personally about what is the true meaning i.e.: private interpretation. the men who were responsible for the wording of the document chose very carefully the words that were included in the document. Words have specific meanings.
In legal documents the words chosen are to reflect the actual meaning and purpose, original intent, of the writer so that any person may know precisely the intent of the law and that it will be clear in the courts that will enforce that lawII Timothy 2:15Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.Study and hard work are required to find the truth. Again, this is a principle that works for saint and sinner alike. the word "approved" in this verse is the Greek word dokimos. This word means to prove or try something by putting it through a test to determine whether it is genuine or counterfeit. Dokimos is also used to describe an assayer, one who determines the purity of an ore. It is also used in determining whether money is genuine or counterfeit. the word ashamed means to be disappointed in one''s expectations.
Think about it. When someone is told that this or that is true and they come to find out later that it was not, in fact, true, that person is quite disappointed from what he expected. In financial dealings we call it fraud or a scam. with currency, it is counterfeiting. Both of which are considered as criminal offenses today. Rightly dividing something is the goal of any research. Rightly dividing means there is only one way to cut it or one way that it correctly fits. This is the meaning of the Greek word used here, orthotomeo.
We derive our medical science of orthopedics from this word. If a human joint does not fit perfectly into place or it has the tiniest amount of foreign matter hindering its movement, pain will be the result, and will often require a surgical procedure to repair the problem. Surgery requires exact precision, especially in the field of orthopedics. the goal of any study or research is to find out the truth. I have shown that it takes hard work and effort. Just as one tests ore for its purity or currency for genuineness versus counterfeit, minor details matter. We want to be assured that everything fits perfectly like a human joint. Truth is an absolute that will stand the test of time.
Truth needs no private interpretation to defend it. There is only one way that truth in history fits. Finding that truth is one that I believe is essential to the future of my state and our nation. While this book is not a complete exposition of constitutional science, it is the result of what I have discovered, utilizing the research principles outlined above. My goal and aim in committing my findings to print is that in some small way I may do my part as a father, husband, business owner, author, teacher, Christian, and American citizen from the Great State of Mississippi, to shed light on our constitutions and aid in restoring our nation to its once unrivaled status of being the leader among the nations of the world to what a government and its people can be. I encourage the readers of this work to do as the people of Berea did when they first heard the good news. Acts 17:11These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Search the same documents and writings of our constitutions and founding fathers that I have noted and see for yourself whether these things are genuine or counterfeit.
If you find them to be true, then do something to get involved and make a difference in your family, friends and local community. You will have noticed that I have presented no doubtful facts. Nothing has been stated which is debatable. the quotations from charters are in the archives of the several States; the laws are on the statute books; judicial opinions are taken from the official reports; statistics from the census publications. In short, no evidence has been presented which is open to question.
