An anthology of Northern stories pulled from the Moonshot graphic novel series. The Moonshot books are by far our bestsellers. The series of books is fairly singular in the graphic novel space in terms of celebrating and showcasing Indigenous people from a culturally-informed perspective. Consistent interest in Moonshot for course adoption use. This particular anthology would be a great fit for Inuit or Northern-specific courses. This collection features 3 stories by Sean and Rachel Qitsualik-Tinsley and 4 by Richard Van Camp. Richard Van Camp's story (Sky People) is an extended edition that can only be found in this anthology. Rachel is Inuit/Cree and was born on Baffin Island.
She specializes in archaic dialects and has published over 400 articles on culture and language. In 2012, she was awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for numerous cultural writings. She and her husband Sean Qitsualik-Tinsley, who is Scottish-Mohawk, are Arctic researchers, consultants, and authors. Their novel Skraelings from Inhabit Media won the Burt Award for First Nations, Métis and Inuit Literature. Richard Van Camp is Dene from Fort Smith, Northwest Territories. He's an international bestselling author, winning over a dozen awards in several countries, including the Canadian Authors Association Air Canada Award. He's written 26 books.
