MANOR at MISTY HARBOR - a Dream Reimagined  (Abbreviated Version)After selling our Inn in Flagler Beach, Florida, our NEW adventure was the complete restoration and reconstruction of a 3-acre estate located on a private peninsula surrounded by salt-water marsh and the Satilla River with easy Intracoastal and Atlantic Ocean access just minutes away.The property consisted of the MAIN HOUSE and pool, a marsh walk with DOCK HOUSE, Deck, Boat Lift and Floating Docand an Open Pole Barn.With our 44' boat eating up our income while being stored at a nearby yard, we needed to find a home with a deep-water dock and access to the Intracoastal waterway. I really wanted an in-ground pool and Mark required an isolated propertywith a large workshop for his future boat construction projects. Needless to say, this property was ideal. However, there were a number of issues:The dock house structure was caved in and scarily unsafeThe home and landscaping had been badly neglected - much beyond imaginationThe pole barn was rotted, riddled with termites and collapsing.After careful consideration, we decided to move forward with an offer, knowing full well we would have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to bring the home, dock house and pole barn back to life.Finally, 3 full years later, our restoration projects and complete.
