Manor at Misty Harbor - a Design Reimagined. This once beautiful, 9,500 square foot edifice had been badly neglected and was in desperate need of repair, reconstruction and updating. Its enormous dock house, which stretched 500 feet to the river, was an even worse disaster, totally caved in and in need of a complete rebuild from its pilings to its rooftop. The property even boasted a 3800 square foot pole barn whose rot and termite riddled beams and walls also needed a complete rebuild. In spite of these monumental challenges, we fell in love with the home's private location which was surrounded on three sides by salt marshes, tidal ponds and brilliant green grasses dotted with great white egrets, roseate spoonbills and other exotic waterfowl. A true nature's paradise, we decided to put in an offer. Now, just 2 months shy of 4 years, and after working side-by side with my husband Mark 18 hours a day, seven days a week, we have transformed the entire property to a reimagined state of beauty, grace and functionality. This chronicle brings our account to you in vivid detail, beginning with the previous owner's tragic story of love, loss and rebirth, and continuing with before and after photos along with thorough descriptions of each phase of reconstruction and the often humorous back stories which brought us laughter and light heartedness as we toiled.
