My name is Jose M Torres. I enjoy reading and writing poetry, as well as reading my favorite authors, including John Keats, Edgar Allen Poe, William Shakespeare, Douglas Adams, David Foster Wallace and many more. I am 33 years old, a graduate of Essex County College in Newark, NJ and Kean University in Union, NJ. As a student, I was Bullied in High School, as shown through the poem "Father of the Bullied". I have grown more empathetic toward those who are bullied and can relate to those people on an emotional level. I have been involved in long term relationships, which created inspiration for many of my poems through drama, abuse and neglect. However,m I am not saying they were bad relationships, they were just poetically inspiring in those rare moments. I grew up in Newark, NJ, USA and still live there.

I have a fondness for my elders and can connect with them on many levels because we share wisdom (Them more than me), and connect better than I can with those at my age. I think too much and like to analyze events, ideas and people.
