Carl Todd PhD, MSc (Sports Med), BSc (Hons) Ost, DO, CSCS, Cert Ed is a registered osteopath, qualified lecturer, published author and a certified strength and conditioning specialist. His academic qualifications include a PhD in orthopaedics and clinical science, a Master's degree in sport injury medicine and an Honours degree in osteopathy.In 2005 Carl became the first osteopath to be appointed by the Football Association to work with the England Football team. To date he has worked with the team for nearly two hundred international games, and has attended with the team at four FIFA World Cup tournaments (in, Germany 2006; South Africa 2010; Brazil 2014; Russia 2018) and at UEFA European Championships, in Poland and Ukraine 2012 and France 2016.Since 2009 Carl has acted as consultant osteopath to Chelsea Football Club; to Team GB male and female Basketball at the London 2012 Olympics; and has previously consulted for Honda UK, the England Cricket Board and many other football clubs including; Real Madrid, IFK Gothenburg, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton FC, West Bromwich Albion FC, Portsmouth FC and Worcestershire County Cricket Club. From 2005-2015 he was associate lecturer at the School of Healthcare, Oxford Brookes University, UK. Carl has a keen interest in sports medicine and a wealth of experience in the treatment and management of both elite and amateur level athletes. He has published papers in peer-reviewed journals and lectures regularly at medical conferences, both nationally and internationally.
He has designed and delivers his own courses on Functional integrated approaches to managing the athlete.
