As the youngest in a family of legendary knights, Billy Vane is used to being ignored and pushed around. All that changes when he receives an enchanted staff on his twelfth birthday. Now as Billy's wizardry powers awaken, he gains the attention he craves -- unfortunately from evil forces out to destroy him. The year is 1346 and the Hundred Years War has just begun. Billy's brothers join the English army to fight in France while he is sent to train with Britain's most fierce and enigmatic sorcerer. Though stuck in a desolate castle, Billy finds kinship with the other two apprentices as they each develop their unique elemental talents. Soon Billy finds himself thrust into another battle, the centuries-old conflict between wizards and faeries. The apprentices must learn to combine their powers to battle dark elves, demonic dragons and zombie armies.
