Reluctantly residing in Thibeaux County, Eulalia "Lee" Fleming lives a steady, uninteresting life teaching math to mostly indifferent students, taking care of her sullen parent, and raising her gregarious son-whose responsibility she must now share with his ex-con father. The last thing she expects is to uncover a trail that keeps leading deeper and deeper into the past, revealing secrets long since tucked away and hidden.
