Vampires : Do They Exist?
"Throughout the whole vast shadowy world of ghosts and demons," Montague Summers wrote in his 1928 book Vampire: His Kith and Kin, "there is no figure so terrible, no figure so dreaded and abhorred, yet dight [adorned] with such fearful fascination, as the vampire." The "fearful fascination" that Summers refers to has not waned. In fact, vampire lore abounds-in books and movies, in history and in contemporary life-and today's teens are among the driving forces in what could be called vampire mania.
