John lives with his wife Denise in Cheshire County in England. John's two sons still live in the United States, and Denise's two sons reside in England. John is a veteran of 11 years in the U.S. Air Force and is presently employed as a clerk for Cheshire East Council. The poems in this book have been written over a period of over three decades, with more than 20 poems not being published at this time. John is also in the process of writing five novels and none of these are ready for print at this time.John's hobbies are reading and writing, an avid gamer on both XBOX 360 and PC, a gardener of several herbs and fruit plants, and small woodworking projects.

He is also an amateur student of ancient and near-ancient history in general and a special focus on wars from that period of time.John's wish for this book is that the reader will enjoy the poetry and for the reader to project themselves into the spirit of the poems and appreciate each one.
