Sean awakes to find himself in an unfamiliar forest, unable to make sense of his surroundings. While searching for his family, he also struggles to distinguish between dreaming and reality. As the story unfolds, Sean becomes increasingly unsure. His wife, Emily, and son, Luke, also encounter unique adventures. Each of them meet a dark entity and his followers who appear to have very dark intentions. Luckily, the family soon discovers they are not alone; they have multiple allies. The story continues to add more layers of complexity as Emily discovers Luke may be a powerful being who can manipulate time and space, a power that dark forces seek to control. She must save both her husband and her son, a quest which she discovers may be the key to saving countless others as well.

It becomes increasingly clear that each person is playing their part in a much larger story that began long before they arrived.
