My name is Robert Sinclair. I was born in 1955 in the poorer side of Glasgow, Scotland, where my mother had the unenviable task of bringing up me and my siblings on very little earnings. It was a hard life for my mother but it was that way for most in the area. My mother eventually died in her 40's, thought very much due to the strain of this existence and I swore then, I would not suffer from poverty again and only wished my mother had some comforts before she died. I sought education as a means of my escape and am a qualified engineer, but chose to work myself hard, as a taxi driver, ensuring a substantial income through working long hours. From this I was able to purchase land in a small village outside Dundee, Scotland and had built, my home. Whilst living in this semi rural area, I began to study further not only to improve my own learning but also as a means of occupying myself through quiet times in the taxi rank. This time it was Scottish history and my ancestors.

Through the help of a genealogist I now have a full picture of my family trees from both parental names and this fuelled my interest further, so I began visiting the Sinclair ancestral homes and finally I felt compelled to write my first historical book, the Sinclairs in our Scottish history. I now find myself very much motivated to the point that history and the Sinclairs has become a great passion and I am currently writing a 2nd volume, the story of the Sinclairs under the Scottish Kings and Queens from MacAlpine to Queen Ann. There are also other historical books that I wish to write these are, Occupational Life of the Sinclairs and MacIntyres, Significant Events and Figures in the Sinclairs History, Clan Battles 12 15 Centuries, Rivers, Forests and Mountains in Scotland and The Industrial Revolution in Scotland to name but a few.
