Mike is a retired professional. He used to have fun making up stories for his three children when they were tiny and this has continued with his six grandchildren. He enjoys writing rhymes and over the years has had several published in the UK press and broadcast on the BBC.The original "Shapes by SCHMOO" was written for one of his grandsons, to teach him a little bit about geometric shapes. With his two youngest granddaughters coming to an age when it will help them, he decided to revamp the book and to make it available for other children as well.He first drew the SCHMOO character during his time at university in the 1960s, when it became the logo for the University Lacrosse Club. Since then it has become a family favourite, with no greeting card being complete without it making an appearance.
