Jon Tulley came to central Arkansas with hopes of escaping the ravages of the raging war between north and south and to raise his young son. Coming to a beautiful valley, they find a small homestead and think all is well. However, lurking in the dark of the war torn country a sinister force appears in a small band of bushwhackers, they leader, Crazy Red, hell bent on seeing one enemy, the same Jon Tulley. Unaware of the lurking danger in Crazy Red Jon's life is one of adventure, danger and a struggle for life. Through his friendship with others in this small valley and the discovered love of a woman, the young mountain man discovers the real healing for his pain from the past and hope for the future.
