Paul Shipton grew up in Montreal, but has now lived and worked in Vancouver, Canada, for over twenty years. That being said, he can often be found exploring the world, as he loves to experience new cultures, cities, and traditions. Aside from his passion for travel, he also loves to keep fit, to enjoy new dining experiences, and to live in the present, savoring the special moments that life can bring. On top of travelling, exercising, running his business, and spending time with his daughter, Paul has also found time to collect various honored designations related to his career in the finance sector, procure a pilot's license (which he has held longer than his driving silence), and has won many awards for his dedication and volunteer work while serving in the CAF. Paul's young daughter, Elizabeth, lives with him In Vancouver, and one of Paul's great pleasures is to spend quality time with her. They can most often be found out and about in parks and open spaces, seeking out the best swings and slides around! Paul also loves to tell stories. He has always loved to entertain, and to regale his friends and family with tales both poignant and amusing. He believes that storytelling is an effective and magical way to teach his daughter, and her peers, some of the most important lessons in life.

It is important to him that she is well equipped with all the tools she will need to live a fulfilling, happy and successful life, and that she understands that whatever life challenges you with, perseverance and commitment to your goals will guide you to success. It is these things that have led him into the world of children's literature. He finds many of his best book ideas by discussing concepts with his mentors and believes that the biggest challenge that any person can face is to overcome their own obstacles, and to get out of their own way.
