Traer Scott is an award-winning fine art and commercial photographer and the bestselling author of several books including the bestseller Shelter Dogs with over 50,000 copies in print worldwide, with several reprints in hardcover as well as a paperback edition and a Japanese edition. Her work has been featured in National Geographic , Life , Vogue , O , and dozens of other major national and international publications. Her fourth book, Newborn Puppies , already in its third reprint (Chronicle Books, April 2013) has been featured in People Magazine print edition, on Good Morning America.com, Oprah.com and Fox and Friends live, among others. Traer Scott was the recipient of the 2010 Rhode Island State Council for the Arts Photography fellowship and the 2008 Helen Woodward Humane Award for animal welfare activism. She resides in Providence, Rhode Island with her family and teaches animal photography at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
