Chris Rooke was born during the Depression and had a fairly hard time growing up, with few material benefits. He learned at an early age that there are some things that are much more valuable than material possessions. His mother, grandmother, and uncle saw to it that he was regular in church attendance and activities. This influence has stayed with him throughout school, four years in the Air Force, college, marriage, and raising a family. God led him to major in history and minor in the Bible while in college. He is very concerned about the trend in our society of turning away from the godly values, which he learned early in life.
