President Xi Jinping proposed establishing a modern Silk Road, creating a network of railways, roads, ports, maritime routes, pipelines, and utility grids that would link China, Central Asia, West and South Asia, Eastern Africa, and Eastern Europe.The objective of these events was to present thoroughly and debate on the Belt Road Initiative, its participants, the main projects, relevant sectors, funding agencies, and how it will shape the world. The Initiative is expected to drift the World's trade center from North America to the Eurasian continent. Under the scope of the BRI, many corporate transactions have already been triggered through Asia and Africa. In order to tackle the need of transport and energy infrastructures we can expect an increase of takeovers, Joint Ventures, capital participation undertook by multinational firms during the next coming years.
